Parkhotel Holzner goes Biennale

At the upcoming 18th Architecture Biennale in Venice, the architect duo bergmeisterwolf will present the Parkhotel Holzner project.
When the 18th Architecture Biennale in Venice begins this coming 20 May, the Holzner will be part of this edition's exhibits. As part of the special exhibition "The New Together" in the prestigious Scuola Grande di Misercordia, the international publishing network Casa Platform will present projects by 140 international architectural firms from 20 May to 30 July 2023.
The architect duo bergmeisterwolf was selected to showcase the Parkhotel Holzner project: from 2012 to 2018, our historic house was brought into the present day through sustainable, step-by-step expansion. "The historical building is at the centre of the interventions, with the new taking a back seat in favour of the existing building. Old and new enter into a symbiosis and thus grow together into a unity," bergmeisterwolf explain the underlying approach.
The exhibition aims to bring together projects that have been built in recent years and are capable of providing opportunities for encounter, exchange, dialogue and sharing between people. The focus is on hybrid projects that go beyond a single function and in which habits, uses and times mix fluidly and constantly.
We are particularly pleased to be perceived as a place of encounter and exchange in the field of architecture as well. And we would be delighted if our guests - should they happen to be travelling to Venice during the period in question - would visit our project at the exhibition in the Scuola Grande di Misercordia.
