Grand Selection Award Wine List 2026 for 1908
Great cuisine tells the story of its origins. A great wine list does the same. We are therefore delighted that the wine list of our Restaurant 1908 has been honoured with the Grand Selection Award Wine List 2026 by HENRIS in the category “Best Regional Selection” for South Tyrol.

The Diversity of South Tyrol in a Glass
This award confirms a path we have been following consistently throughout the hotel – and especially at Restaurant 1908 – for many years: showcasing the remarkable wine culture of South Tyrol.
Within a remarkably small area, Alpine freshness meets Mediterranean influence. The result is a collection of wines with distinctive character and unmistakable origins. Our wine list brings together renowned estates and smaller artisan producers alike, reflecting the impressive diversity of South Tyrol’s wine region – from the steep vineyards of the Eisack Valley and the sun-drenched hills around Bolzano to the historic vineyards along the South Tyrolean Wine Road.
Wine as Part of the Culinary Experience
The award-winning wine list is the result of close collaboration between our kitchen, service and sommelier teams. Our goal is not to offer the largest possible selection, but rather to curate a collection with personality – one that tells stories and reflects the unique identity of our region.
Paired with the seasonal menus created by Chef Stephan Zippl, our wine recommendations are designed to complement, enhance and occasionally surprise. In this way, every wine pairing becomes a journey through South Tyrol’s exceptional culinary landscape.
An Award for the Entire Team
For us, the Grand Selection Award Wine List 2026 is above all a recognition of the passion and dedication with which our team works every day. Our heartfelt thanks go to our guests, whose curiosity and enthusiasm for discovery make Restaurant 1908 a place where fine dining, warm hospitality and a living wine culture come together.
We look forward to welcoming you on your next visit and guiding you through the fascinating world of South Tyrolean wines.
Cheers!
