Heating with renewable energy
In 2006 and 2007, we banished the old oil heating system from our establishment while we were having the new swimming complex built. The heating system for the new pool would have guzzled an enormous amount of oil, which did not seem acceptable to us in this day and age. Deciding on a wood-chip heating system was then a very easy choice to make: wood is the most common and easily accessible fuel in South Tyrol.
Other factors that influenced our decision were the short transportation routes and the reasonable value for money. Now we can heat our hotel and the new pools with a clear conscience, and you can splash about in the steaming outdoor pool with a clear conscience, too.
