From Hotel Oberbozen to Parkhotel Holzner

The Parkhotel Holzner in Oberbozen on the Ritten was opened in 1908. Originally under the name of Hotel Oberbozen, the family Holzner owned this hotel. The years were not easy. Especially both world wars left many signs in the hotel that had to be restored in a very careful way.

In the seventies the tourism in South Tyrol boomed and therefore also at the Parkhotel Holzner in Oberbozen on the Ritten. Today the Parkhotel is a founding member of the offer group family hotels in South Tyrol , and also of the family hotels on the Ritten, it is a kids friendly hotel.

The Hotel in South Tyrol can also put forward culinary dishes to reach your pleasures. The most important duty of the family Holzner is to maintain the wonderful and historic Art Nouveau house of the Parkhotel.

Large construction works at the Parkhotel Holzner for its 100 years jubilee.

2007
New construction of the indoor and outdoor pools, the saunas and the Liberty Spa, as well as the new organic heating, everything has been made to render the 100 anniversary of the Parkhotel Holzner a brilliant event.

1970er
Tourism boomed in South Tyrol , and the Parkhotel Holzner can be renewed and enlarged.

1969
After the death of Herbert Holzners in 1968 and of the mother in 1969, Hans Holzner jun., the owner of today, took on the Hotel with his family.

1948
The repair constructions at the hotel were finished.

1939-1945
2nd World War: the Hotel was renamed Hotel Savoia by the fascist regime. The soldiers occupied the Hotel and  changed its purpose.

1933
Herbert Holzner took on the management of the Hotel after Hans Holzner sen. died of a stroke.

1931
The Hotel Oberbozen was enlarged with the coffeehouse named Cafe` Holzner.
Under fascist regime the Hotel was renamed Hotel Holzner to avoid an Italian name as Hotel Soprabolzano.

1920
The Hotel Oberbozen is afoot again.

1914-1918
1st World War: constructions stopped; Hans Holzner sen. had to go to the armed forces and the Hotel was taken up by the soldiers.

Start of big constructions

1911
Hans Holzner sen. manager of the hotel  buys the Hotel Oberbozen (today Hotel Holzner) from the Rittnerbahn AG, and stays there with his wife Maria Krawany from Mödling/Vienna.
